Clearly A Good Idea

I have a clearly simple T{ippity} Tuesday tip!I LOVE sewing on my projects but when I started crafting I have to say it was a bit of a pain. Changing thread colors wasn't really easy and I had about a dozen different bobbins threaded with all the different colors I had. I usually ended up just stitching with black because it was too much work to rethread the whole machine just to use pink on one project.
BUT this tip changed it all!!
CLEAR THREAD

Simple, right?!?! You only need ONE bobbin with clear thread...then you can change to any color you want simply by changing the spool on your machine. The clear thread only shows up on the bottom of your project and you can use any color you want...really quick...really easy :)
Now I sew on LOTS of my projects....here are a few to get your wheels turning.
HAPPY SEWING!!!!

If you can forgive the person you were, accept the person you are, and believe in the person you will become, you are headed for joy. So celebrate your life!

Sunday's Faves

Happy Sunday everyone... hope you are enjoying your weekend!!!

I was blown away this week with all the fabulous Ippity inspiration in the SCS gallery!!!  I can't wait to show you some of my faves!!!

I just adore the way Elisabeth used the rectangles from A Moment in Time for her background.  This card is packed with Ippity goodness and the hand stitching is absolutely perfect.

The paper piecing challenge inspired some delightful fall cards, like this one from Chris.  I just love the fun patterned paper she used for her pumpkins.  There is still time to play along with the paper piecing challenge, check out the Ippity forum for details.

Lynn also made a fabulous fall card for the challenge.  Don't you just adore the deep rich pumpkin color against the soft cream and kraft background.  I just love the sweet little leaves and the Bit of Burlap with burlap string just creates the perfect feeling of fall.

 I couldn't help but show you another item by Lynn.  She really rocked the Ippity this week, especially with this fabulous Christmas tag!  How creative to use the corner stamps to create a tree!!!

Finally... Poppit created this fun card.  I love her idea to use the birdcage stamp to make her own patterned paper.   How FABULOUS is that???  Just a super cute and fun card!

I hope you enjoyed these creations as much as I did!!!  There were so many AMAZING projects from all our Ippity peeps, it is so hard to just pick a few!!!

Have a super day!

flattering our VERY OWN ANDREA....

I am SO EXCITED to introduce you to our
VERY OWN ANDREA!!
She works inside Unity/{ippity}...
side by side with Angela, Michelle, and I.
Andrea started out at Unity/Ippity working in the manufacturing department, which we refer to as "the back."  THEY sure do miss her back there...
but WE are so happy she has joined us girls up "front!"
While in the "back" they gave her a couple of other names...and honestly I don't really even know WHY!  So...if YOU ever come visit us at Unity/{ippity} you may hear us refer to her as NANCY, HELEN as well as ANDREA. HAHA!

I just LOVE this girl...
here are just a few things that I LOVE about her:
she is sassy {in a good way!}. got a heart of GOLD.  tells you how it is.  a wonderful FRIEND. has mad garage sailing skills.  her sense of humor.  her determination and attention to detail. her POSITIVE attitude.  she is BEAUTIFUL inside & out!!! her NEW love for crafting/stamping. ALL her practical JOKES!! {she definitely keeps us on our toes}
for just being HER...we GIGGLE all day with this chick!
sorry Andrea...I found pics FOR YOU! heehee
isn't she BEAUTIFUL!!
here's a bit about Andrea...in HER words
{and mine in italics}

Tell us a little about yourself.
I live in New London, with my husband and 2 kids, 2 cats and a dog.
How did you first get involved in stamping?
When I started working at Unity a year and ½ ago.

What is your stamping style?
I don’t really know.

Tell us about your creative process.
First I pick photos, then I pick paper (which takes me forever!) and I never glue anything down until it is all placed where I want it.

What is your favorite {ippity} stamp set and why?
Life's Little Moments for sure! It is so versatile.

How often do you stamp?
Not as often as I would like. Only about 2 days a week.

How long does it take you to make a project you are happy with?
1 to 2 days!

What does your craft room look like? {messy, clean, etc.}
Usually very clean. I am in the process of reorganizing, so right now it is a mess!  {this girl is one of the most organized woman i know...YOU should see her purse full of purses!!}

What is your biggest paper crafting challenge?
I am usually unhappy with how my projects turn out.

What is your title at Unity/{ippity}?
Kit Club Administrator
{and so much more!!!}

How are you involved in the making of {ippity} stamps?
I used to help with the actual making of them in the back and now I get to process the orders as they come in. {AND she now gets to help us with the overall look & feel of Unity/ippity!!!}

How long have you worked there?
1 and ½ years

Are you a crafter? Do you use Unity/{ippity} stamps outside of work?
I was never a crafter until I started working here! Now I love it!  {she is sooooo addicted now, it's so FUN...we get so EXCITED about all our new stamps!}

Can you tell us a funny story about your boss?
I would like to keep my job thank you!  :)

What song best describes you?
It depends on my mood.

If you were stranded on a desert island what are the three things you would bring?
Of course I have to say my husband and kids!

What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
Milk, leftovers and water. The fun stuff is in the freezer!

If you could be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
I would want the ability to be invisible and when I’m not invisible I want a really cool cape!

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
Middle Child – Private Investigator

What would your dream vacation be?
The Turks and Caicos with my family, my mom and dad and my sister and brother in law.

some pics of Andrea & the Unity/Ippity peeps...
{andrea, julie, eryn, angela, michelle....
we are missing carrie in this pic!!}

Boom Mark Tutorial

Happy Hip Hop day! I know, I know, I say that a lot, but really Thursday's are a happy day for me. I love knowing I can come here, the Unity blog and the Unity forum and know were to find some of my favorite stamping Peeps! I've been waiting patiently for my day to come around to do the Thursday tutorial. I've had this one ready to go for weeks now. I decided back when I made my sneak peeks for the latest {ippity} release that I would share with you all how I did my chipboard/ribbon bookmark. Remember this? It really is easy and you can apply the technique to just about any stamp image or chipboard piece.

Here's what you need to get started:

  • a sheet of chipboard to die cut (you can also use thin, recycled cardboard, like a cereal box) or a pre-cute chipboard piece.

  • your favorite stamp, {ippity} of course!

  • a long piece of your favorite ribbon

  • decorative metal piece or favorite button

  • scor-tape or sticky strip

  • die cut machine and small to medium sized die

  • designer paper of your choice

And here' s how to put it all together:

  1. using your die cute machine cut a piece of chipboard with your chosen die (here I used the nestabilities label 13 die)

  2. die cut two pieces of designer paper with the same die, to cover your chipboard piece. You will then have 2 pieces of designer paper and 1 chipboard piece all cut in the same shape

  3. adhere your designer paper to die-cute chipboard piece-front and back sides.

  4. stamp, color, and cut out your stamped image (here I used Books A Flutter. Colored my image with copics, cut off my butterfly, and paper pieced it to place on the sentiment. Another great tip to get more mileage from your stamps!)

  5. Attach 1 end of your ribbon with a strong adhesive (I use scor-tape) to the middle of your covered chipboard piece, then attach metal decorative piece or button of choice to the other end.

  6. attach stamped image over the attached ribbon piece with dimensionals

There you go-a finished bookmark. I really love mine and use it all the time. Hope you feel inspired to make one for yourself or to give as a gift.

Leave a comment here today and 1 lucky winner will win the Fall set, Just Wanted to Say.

Comments open till midnight central time for a chance to win. The winner to be announced here Friday morning.

If you didn't start at the beginning of the hop, then off you go to the Unity Blog.
You don't want to miss any of the AMAZING creations!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!

Tippity Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone it's Stephanie here to share a quick tip with you!!! I wanted to share some quick Thank You Cards with you it's always nice to have a bunch of these in your stash especially for those Ippity sales that you make. I know that when I receive something that I have ordered I am always happy to see that the company has taken a little time to say Thank You for Your Order.

These cards probably only took me twenty minutes for all four. These are 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square and all I needed was some favorite cardstock, some DP this is Basic Grey's Basic Collection really fun to stamp directly onto but of course you can use what you already have in your stash and your favorite stamp this one is from the Simply Said Kit and the Thanks is from Fall For You Kit.

For my image I stamped and heat embossed it. Another fun idea would be to stamp your images in different colors and match it up with some fun ribbon. You could also make a Thank You Card using a kit that your customer is buying from you not only will she get a Thank You but a great idea for a card.
My tip for the day take a little time to make some quick and easy Thank Yous to show your customers that you really appreciate their business!!!
Have a great Tuesday!!!

Piecing on a Monday!

Good morning, haaaaappy Monday and HAPPY H{ippity} Hop! I've got a fun challenge for you this week. It's easy and one of my favorite ways to use up designer paper, get lots of patterns on your card without being over bearing, and well, it's just a cool technique.

For this week's IHHC29-let's do some paper piecing.
Here's a quick tutorial on SCS, in case you have never tried this technique before.

It's EASY to play along:
  1. Simply create card or project with paper piecing, using {ippity}stamps.
  2. THEN upload it to your SCS gallery by midnight on Sunday, the 27th with keyword: IHHC29 and Ippity
  3. I will randomly choose a winner next Monday and post it in a thread in the {ippity} forum
Be sure you check out the FABULOUS design team members projects

Stephanie Muzzuline (Guest Designer)
and Here's the line up for all things {ippity}!
Thanks for playing along and thanks for the inspiration. We really appreciate your enthusiasm for this blog hop each week. Beautiful creations time after time!

Sunday Faves

Hello everyone, this is Eva and I am here to share my favorites of the week.  I am making this post quick, as I got sick last night and still not feeling well, and will be heading back to bed after I picked my faves.  I didn't want to miss that!

The first card I thought I would showcase is by Heather!  I just loved all her layering of papers and stamps on this card and the whole layout is just fabulous.

My second pick is by JenMarie.  I just love how sharp this card is with the white against just that colorful flower.  This is just divine!

My next pick is by Jenstampin4U and it is an amazing quote book.  She had two pictures to share, so I am sharing both as well.  They are just awesome!

My next pick is by Emily and I love the CAS look of it done in a gorgeous way!  I just love the pop of the flowers against the white with a little bit of black!

My last pick is another CAS look card with white and just a little bit of a gorgeous coloring of the image...LOVE IT!!!  It's by croppixie.

Well, that is it for this week.  Hope you enjoy the cards in this post as much as I did!

Have a fabulous day!

FUN, FRESH stampin' idea...FRIDAY!

YAY for Fresh Idea FRIDAY's with {ippity}!!
EVERY Friday come visit us HERE on the {ippity} blog for a FUN, FRESH Stampin' Idea!!

I decided to make some cute little books with a little pocket inside...
I stumbled upon a great tutorial that also includes a template that you can easily print on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of card stock.  I don't even have any idea HOW I found this, but check it out here if you'd like to try creating some of these.

They are the perfect size to just easily throw in your purse...
or I can even envision them wrapped up with some cute jute and given as a little gift to a special friend.
They are actually quite FUN to make...
I couldn't stop at just one...had to make another {and was tempted to start working on my third!!}

For the paper inside, I just used copy paper cut down and folded...then stitched it into place.
I would much rather have used a recycled paper but this was all I had at the time...

I thought these quotes were perfect...and so easy to quickly stamp and add to the inside!

supplies:
{ippity} stamps...Now & Always & Where You Should Be
Unity Burnt Umber ink
{all the above available from an ippity chick}
8.5 x 11 Kraft Card stock
AND this paper I just got in a booklet...I LOVE IT...
but can't remember the manufacturer's name, can anyone help me???
{i don't have it with me right now but would like to give credit to the company}

HAVE a WONDERFUL Friday!!!

Eryn Hagen
